Positive Day in the Bloggosphere!

So today it is Positive Day and I am to leave a positive post. It had to happen today? So I am going to list some things that I am thankful for. I need to think of them right now as I am having a rough time. So here goes.........

My husband. He is a great Dad and they adore him so much. He loves loves loves to sit and watch movies with them, something I really can't stand. They all find places on or near him and they all just veg.

My Butterbean. She is the reason I went back to church. I knew I wanted my children raised in the gospel. And from there led us to the Temple to be an eternal family. She is a sweet, smart, funny girl and I adore her.

My Butterball. I have never met a kid so thoughtful and nice. He is polite most of the time and so sensitive to others needs. He always can make me smile. He is so wonderful to his baby brother.

My Appleseed. He is my little Angel. He brings such a light to all our lives. He is so precious and has a smile where his whole body can get into it. He adores his siblings and just lights up when they come around.

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family. So blessed to have the Gospel in our lives. And so blessed to live in the awesome neighborhood we live in. I have the best neighbors around.

School is out for the summer!!

First of all, here is my cute weirdos feeding the birds. Butterbean had come in asking if she could feed the birds because there was a ton out there. What I did not realize is they used an entire package of buns. Oh well. It was cute and there was "a ton".Here is Appleseed playing at midnight. Love my little night owl.Butterbean's last day of summer school (KISS) was today. This is her first report card. So exciting for Mom and Dad. Decided to get her to recognize the letter b I would tell her b has a belly and that d has a........how do you spell that nice word for bum that starts with d? Well, I was going to tell her that to see if that would help for those words. The other day I was having her read a book to me. I was a little surprised how well she was doing but also how much trouble she was having. Turned out I was having her read a book that is a level higher than she should be reading. We will go back down for now so she doesn't get too frustrated.

Another PG-13 post?

I was nursing my baby when Butterball was patting me asking why I had two of those. I told him that that is they way Heavenly Father made me. He said, "Well I don't yike that. I am going to talk to Him about that and have him give you just one." Butterbean heard and said, "Well, if you had two babies... (She is holding her arms out like she is holding two babies.) and you need to feed them. One would be nursing and then the other would have to nurse the other's head! (Still using her arms as if she has babies in them to help explain this to us.) So that is why you have to have two." So there you go. I bet you ladies were all wondering why you had two of those things.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUTTERBALL!!!!

Butterball turns 3 tomorrow. He has been the best kid. He is also the hardest kid. He had colic when he was a baby and cried something awful! He never liked anyone to touch him but me. Not even Dad for awhile there. He hated people to look at him or talk to him. But he is the most sensitive. Always there with a stuffed animal if you are hurt or sad. He is very very polite. Don't know where he got that from. He can be so nice, cute, fun, silly, imaginative, and adorable. I love you so much Butterball! You are my best big boy. My Mom is a professional photographer and took the cute shots. Thank you Mom for the adorable photos. And as you all know, this is my typical Butterball, glaring at me for even thinking of taking his picture while trying to hide.

Eating out.

The kids and I went to Food Town in Layton. I have wanted to go there but never thought it was something my husband would want to do. So he is out of town so we went. I loved it. You buy tickets and then use the tickets to get food from all these local restaurants. It was super cheap for the amount of food you get. I ate at 5 restaurants. Only mistake, thinking that food offered at the Hospital booth would be good. It was so not! My kids are picky so they didn't eat much. My daughter wouldn't even eat the super good hot dog because it had no ketchup. Nut!Appleseed was not letting go of that watermelon. He loved it. He ate a ton there too. They had bubbles for the kids so while I fed my face my kids played.Butterbean trying to catch them with her mouth. Silly.

Butterbean Beauty

I had fun doing Butterbean's hair today. I was using a tutorial with no pics and it was kind of fun. It is from the following blog: http://www.girlydohairstyles.com. Oh, and I bet you will be jealous with this one.....Butterbean now says I am a Mommy Witch. She said that means I am better than just a witch. How nice.

This is what color our water is today. Gross! I thought maybe this is equivalent to a mud bath? The kids had fun in the pool that arrived today. Yeah! I had to get one off the Internet as I could not find one at all in the stores. I had waited to long apparently.Butterbean told me that she likes clothes that are just a little inappropriate and that she is OK if they show "this much shoulder". That is what she is doing in the picture. Then she told me how Princess Belle wears her dress off her shoulders and that when her cousin ML wears her Belle costume that she wears it the same way. She is going to be fun as she gets older isn't she? Sigh. I thought it was adorable that Butterbean figured out a way to get over her fear of helium filled balloons. When she first saw the balloons at the store she immediately told me she didn't want any. She says that every time she sees balloons. Then she said that I could get one for Butterball and one for me and that I could just take care of it till we got home. I told her that was a great idea. As we were walking towards the door to leave the store she said, "I am glad you got a balloon for yourself and one for Butterball and not me." I reminded her that one of them was hers and that I was just holding it for her for now. She said, "No it is your balloon. Not mine. That way I won't even have to worry about it flying away when you get outside because it is not mine." I caught on after that so I let her know that one was mine. As we walked to the car she kept saying, "I am not even thinking about those balloons flying away. I am not even worried at all." It was so funny. When we got to the car and I was getting ready to get in she said, "Please be careful!" I told her, "But it is my balloon remember so you don't have to worry." In a relieved voice she said, "Oh that is right. Whew." So cute. We made it home with my balloon and Butterball's and then I gave mine to hers. She was perfectly fine then.

Love new toys

You just have to love new toys like this.

Too tired to come up with title.

I was looking for some shelves on ebay to put in my kids rooms. And it was funny to find that my sister was trying to sell some on there. So now my kids have some shelves. Yeah! Butterbean loves hers and so will I. And of course Butterball won't pose with his.I sent the kids to quiet time which is only an hour long. Her room was clean before she went and this is what it looked like after. Nuts!!! How can quiet time be so messy? She was not happy that I made her clean it again. We bought the movie Coraline today which comes with a 3-D version. My kids love that movie and were excited to get to watch it. Appleseed just ate his glasses instead. Am I terrible that I put it in so that I could lay down and get some rest? I am feeling very yucky and need some rest.

Can you beat that? (not sure if this is a PG-13 post or worse)

I was looking for a piece of paper the other day and found this:I asked Butterbean what it was a picture of and she said a monster. I then said, "But it says Mom next to it." She looked again and said, "Oh yeah. That is you." Do I really resemble a monster that closely that it takes two looks to make sure it is me or not? And she pointed out the parts to me of course. Pretty nice don't you think? Should that be enough to have me running to the gym? Course as I do resemble a monster......will I scare away the other patrons? Course if I have my clothes on maybe that will help. Maybe it is just in the buff I look so much like a monster. But to make things better, earlier in the day she told me she loved me so much and that I was the best Mom ever. That I was even better than a sharks Mom. Now as I write that I am wondering if that is a compliment after all. You know with the whole monster and sharks Mom thing. Hmmmmmm. Then she told me I am even better than a lump of coal. Ahhhhhhh. Now that is love, sob sob. Bet your kid doesn't say that to you!

YUUMMMM

A family friend brought us some produce today, yum! I gave Appleseed some raspberries that he went to town on.Butterball told me this today. "A stranger came in my room last night. And the problem was he didn't steal me." I had to interrupt that that wasn't a problem but a good thing. "Then him offer me candy but I said, 'No thank you.' cuz I don't like that kind, It was chocolate with black stuff on it." His sister tried convincing him it was a dream but he insisted it was real. Hmmmm, wonder if that was the day i left the front door wide open till Bubba found it at 2 AM. Opps.

Butterbean told me how one time she had snuck into the candy corns and sat under the secretary to eat them. Told her how sad it was she snuck into them. Butterball chimed in wanting to know where they were. I told him that we don't have any anymore. He then said, "Jesus does. Him have lots of candy corn cuz Santa gave it to him!" Now imagine that.

Smiles all around.

This is what Appleseed likes to do some nights instead of sleep. How can you resist that face? I sure can't.The kids and I went swimming today. It was kind of hard being the only adult but it was still fun. We couldn't go down the water slide though or spend too much time in deep pool. It was too hard for me to climb out carrying Appleseed, He hated his floaty thing and it didn't keep his head out of the water enough so I just held him.
Butterbean must have been feeling bad today. She had told me that she hates going to school lunch with me. She said that she won't eat what I cook for dinner. And a few other nice things today. So after dinner she ended up drying and putting away all the dishes without being asked and then mopped the floor. It was nice to have the help but made me wonder if she felt bad for the way she treated me today and that is why she did it. I am not looking forward to the teenage years at all.

Seriously.

This takes the cake. He had a collared shirt on backwards and his shorts. And of course his underwear was too. He just walked holding it away from his neck. I offered to fix this but he wouldn't let me.Appleseed played in the sprinkler. It didn't last long though.Butterbean came out of school and said, " All my teachers came over and were lifting up my hair to see how you had done it and they said how cute it always is. They said that I should tell you thank you. They kept bawling all day about how cute it was." Not sure what she meant about them "bawling" all day but I am sure glad she lets me do her hair. Thanks again to Girly Do's by Jen.

What?!?

Butterball was standing next to me. I turned and asked him what he was eating. He very truthfully and with a big smile said, "Boogers."

Butterbean was talking to me about having another baby. I told her that her Dad didn't want anymore children. She said, "Well, how about we not tell him and secretly do it. And then we will just have a new baby girl and then say 'Surprise!' Doesn't that sound like fun? I was rolling on the floor laughing, at least in my mind.

Butterball was reading the scriptures for Family Home Evening. It went something like this, "Him had a monster and him had an eye. And then he killed that monster. And the monster then came out of the room. And that's it." Now I don't recall that in the scriptures.

Trapped?!?

Yesterday we were walking home from a church activity and Butterbean asked if she could race ahead on home. I had told her no that she needed to stay with us. She said, "I don't want to be trapped. Let me be free!" Isn't she a little young to feel that way already? Isn't she still supposed to adore her mother and want to spend all her time right next to her side? How in the world am I to do this when she becomes a teenager if already my 5 year old feels trapped?

Movie Night

We went to the drive in movie with friends last night. It was a lot of fun even if I was jealous that their baby fell asleep and mine didn't. Then Butterball turned on the car lights, blinkers, and emergency lights. And of course Butterbean would not stop talking during it. It was their first drive in movie so they were excited. Thanks for having us along!

On the mend

Butterbean woke up this morning still quite sick. She had a bad headache and tummy ache and laid around moaning. When I told her she would have to miss school again today she said, "That is OK. Other kids miss school too." I thought she would be disappointed but she wasn't. After she had a nap later she woke up feeling a ton better. She even wanted to go on a bike ride. She still had the Ice Pack on her forehead for her headache. It was cute. She was worn out as she walked her bike around the block most of the way. She said it was too hard to ride it.Butterball was wearing my pink weeding gloves to ride the bike today. He didn't want me to take his picture so he was mad.

Sickos

My two older kids got the stomach flu. Worst one I have ever seen. Poor Butterball got it first. She always does. She ended up throwing up 26 times. Poor thing. She finally stopped at 4 am so I finally was able to get to sleep. Then as luck would have it Butterball started throwing up at 4:20 am. He included diarrhea in the mix. His first accident he cried, "I just can't do this! I am so sorry Mommy." So sad.

This is the lovely pile of laundry that I had waiting for me. And that is minus 3 batches I had already done in the night. And honestly they hit the bowl or toilet more than not so I am glad for that at least. So far this smiley guy has not got it yet. Butterball was furious with me when I told him he could not touch Appleseed. He loves him so much.Butterball actually got up in the morning, threw-up and then wanted to go back to bed. Now that is sick.I let them veg and watch TV today.
Hugging the toilet. He was too tired to stand. In the night I had checked on Butterbean and asked if she needed to throw up. She said she was fine and went back to sleep. Upon closer inspection she had already thrown up and was laying in it. She was so cute.

Movie Night

Appleseed first time swimming. He loved it.We decided to have watch a movie outside for Family Home Evening. It was actually kind of hard to get the kids into it. At least I thought so. They kept getting up, wandering around, wanting to ride bikes, wanting to play with friends. We could barely hear the movie because of the kids or the trains. I was sure glad it wasn't one I cared to see. But later Butterbean said how much fun it was. So I guess it worked out OK after all.

Happy 4th of July

We had some family come up to spend the holiday with us it was a blast!! I had such a great day! Thank you to all of you. We did so much on that holiday, parade, BBQ, movie, attempt at swimming, our own fireworks, and finally city fireworks. I love being with my family and am so glad I had them to make the day so special.

We went to my sister's yard sale and Butterball had me purchase this bike with a trailer. He loves it and rode it all day. Best investment ever. He was instructing his cousin how to ride it. Adorable.Butterball asked if Appleseed could chew on his ear. It was funny. Appleseed did keep trying to chew and lick his ear and they both giggled. So cute.My niece helping plug Appleseed's ears, the sirens at the parade were too loud for him and he kept crying. The kids watching the boys set off fireworks.Playing with their poor Aunt. She was so good to them. They love her so much.I did my niece and daughter in twinner star hair styles. Fun fun fun.Butterball and Mr. D. He was Mr. before he married my niece and yet we can't drop the Mr. part for some reason so afraid he was always be Mr. D to us. Butterball adores him to no end. He is very good with him too. They are so cute together. Sorry that it takes him so long to warm up Mr. D. Butterball is not a people person and it can take him awhile to be friendly to people. Then of course we can turn on a dime.
