Butterball's surgery

He was excited at first because we were going to watch TV. ha ha. That didn't last long. Soon we were waiting in a small room with NO TV! Why would they do that to them? They should have something there for them to be distracted by.My boy HATES to wear anything but his clothes to do stuff so he was furious to have to get the hospital gown on and kept trying to get out of it.We gave in and let him have his pants back on. He just kept saying how it was boring and he wanted to go home and "why do I have to come here every day?"
Here is my big boy walking off to surgery. It broke my heart to see him go. He refused to have the nurse carry him or hold his hand. The doctor said his tonsils were huge not just where you could see them but underneath too. So he said he should feel much better now. I am so glad. Here he is on my lap with his bear from the hospital and his matching iv wrap.We both dozed off and on during recovery. He was so excited to see his baby brother. He immediately had him come up and lay down next to him. He talked to him about each of his surgery pictures and what happened. He told him, "You hava be careful wif me cuz I hurt real bad right now. K?" It was really cute. His sister had wrote him a note telling him she hoped he felt better. The minute he saw her he thanked her for the note. He is so sweet. He wanted her to come lay down with him too. So she sat next to him and help Appleseed. They have been so good to each other. I love it.He had me get him a bandaid as he said his mouth hurt. I didn't realize why the sides of his mouth were so sore till my husband reminded me how he had his mouth open during the surgery. They are quite red and sore. Poor thing.
Now he and Dad are resting while I entertain the other day.....counting down the minutes till it is my turn to take a nap. he he

Happy New Year!

Tonight we celebrated our New Year with goodies, Wii games, and movies. And remember that guy that wouldn't open his Christmas presents until he was dressed? He was already in his pajamas and went and got dressed before he could celebrate. It was so cute. Appleseed eating goodies. Then when "midnight" hit we went outside with our noise makers and yelled "Happy New Year." Butterball had to go see his favorite Aunt M and tell her family Happy New Year. It was so cute. He adores her.We want to wish you all a Happy New Year and hope that this year we can all try to find the positive in these trying times. And look to the Lord in all we do. We love you all!

Christmas Day

We had a wonderful Christmas. And Santa was very very good to us. Butterbean had opened 4 presents before anyone else could do anything. So she wasn't happy when I made her stop. Butterball then opened two presents that belonged to Butterbean before we noticed. So he was upset when I made him stop. And this is how Appleseed spent most of the time. It sounded so familiar. I wish I could find a picture from to show you. he heModeling our new sweaters. I could not get a picture of all of them together for nothing. And remember that reindeer food? The reindeer left something in return......poop.....complete with specks of glitter from the food. Butterbean was appalled and was positive that it was because she was naughty and it was their way of punishing her. Butterball wanted me to call Santa and talk to him about how his reindeer should not poop in our yard. Thank you so much "reindeer".

Christmas Eve!

Our sweet neighbor made my kids some reindeer food. We loved it. Appleseed got mad that I wouldn't let him eat it. Here they are feeding the deer.Butterball has been sick and so instantly changed his mind that he didn't want to do it. Then after I had thrown his all out for the reindeer decided he did want to. He was not happy that it was gone. Luckily his sister shared a handful. Then Mom made the mistake of making a big deal about it which set us off again. Argh tonsils and diarrhea! We got letters from Santa on the computer so I read them to the kids. Butterball was sooooo excited. His face lit up and it was so cute.Butterbean was so excited tonight she could barely listen to hers without interrupting. Then we checked out where Santa was and watched videos of where he had been. It was so fun and they loved it.Daddy wanted to start a new tradition of letting them open one present on Christmas Eve. They chose a present that one of the other had bought for them.Appleseed of course was so excited to eat the packaging. The same neat family that made the reindeer food gave us this adorable plate and cup. With the yummy cookie mix. Only problem was I lost my head and left the cookie dough out on the counter for 24 hours before realizing that hmmmmm.....it NEEDS TO BE REFRIGERATED. Wish me luck. I have already sampled them. he he. Oops.

Family Home Evening

Daddy wanted to go to bed and Appleseed kept following him so Dad stuck up the gate and tried to block him off with his toys. He got those toys moved around so he could get through and went right to the gate and tried to find Dad for awhile. It was so cute.Butterbean was in charge of reading the scriptures for Family Home Evening and read them all by herself. We were so proud of her. They are the kid version but still have some pretty big words. It was cute. She then wanted to discuss stealing as our topic as we have had a lot of trouble with her sneaking into food. I wouldn't let her discuss it though as I don't like to discuss a topic that is a recent problem in the home. So then she decided about "getting stealed".Butterball chose to have us watch a movie for our activity. So they cuddled with Dad to watch. They love doing that. I wish I was better at holding Family Home Evening. I really do believe that it brings the family closer and strengthens them. In these times I think we need to be strong as families. I think we will work on that this coming year.

Santie Clausing and sickos

My daughter wanted to make her own hair bows for a friend. I folded the one on the right and she did the one on the left. Hers turned out better than mine. And she did it entirely on her own without me sitting there.Modeling her new bows. She did tape the bobby pins on and no amount of convincing would work to get her to glue them.
We have a Santie Clause friend that brought us a new/used TV! They got a new one so we got their old one. And this one works with the DVD player. Yeah! I am so excited! We were borrowing one from Chris's work that was going to have to go back soon.My poor sick baby in my arms. He likes to be held a lot. Sure wish the antibiotic would kick in and work already.

Hanging with friends

We were hanging out with some teenage cousins while their parents were away for 5 days. It was a good time and they were so good. My kids did not sleep well and thought it was a party every night though.

This is what Appleseed looked like when he first saw his cousin J. He just stared at him until he walked too close and then he started crying. Then they became the best of friends and hung out together a lot. It was so precious! My daughter made me a hat. I know I wouldn't normally willingly post pictures of myself but when I put on my hat she said, "Oh Mom! You look adorable. Just adorable!" So of course I had to post them. She wanted us "adorable girls" to make a goofy face too.It is so precious to me that my sweet boys like to hang out together when one of them is not feeling well. They both just seem to know and will hang around the other. This morning when Appleseed woke up crying then Butterball was quick to get up and say, "It is OK. I am here. I am here." It melts my heart that these special spirits are so close. They truly are Heaven sent.

Crazy Randomness

I have these photos that I mean to do post on and never find enough time. So here are some of them.

The Village People?Girling up the boots for her.Butterbean has a "twinner" dress like Grandma and has begged for pictures of them together in them. So we finally did it.Here they are making the same silly face. Butterbean does this one a lot....drives me bonkers. he heIn her Thanksgiving get-up from school. She did not believe me when I told her she was related to Pocahontas. She kept saying, "Uh un....really?" Over and over. Silly thing. Then she thought she was cool when she finally believed me.Playing dress up. What a riot. She looked all Ninja-y or Charlies Angel-y to me.My daughter is the biggest slob at eating for some reason. She rarely uses a utensil unless I tell her to. And it is always all over the floor. I had to snap this when she was eating spaghetti. I asked her to use a fork and this is what happened.Poor Appleseed being tortured by Mommy yet again. He looks so cute with that thing on.Lately Butterball has been throwing fits. If I tell him to take a nap and shut his door he usually throws all his stuff around. This day he accidentally fell asleep on it all.Appleseed with his pacifier. I love the grin behind it. What cracked me up is that not 5 minutes before I had found one under there and threw it away. Then he comes out with that. Then one sad sad night he was in need of comfort and I was exhausted and just could not stay awake any longer feeding him and I pulled the one that I wanted to put in his keepsake box and shoved it in. I now have started using it for naps and bed time. And yes, occasionally he finds it during the day and pops it in. Silly kid.
