Parade Rest Ranch - Day 1

We went to our favorite place on earth. To Parade Rest Ranch. It was quite cold but beautiful. Last year, my son decided to switch his birthday with his Dad's as his Dad's is always at the same time as we go to the ranch. So we celebrated his birthday there. My daughter, getting a little jealous, decided to have her birthday there too. She sure changed her tune when we got home and realized she wasn't going to have another party on her actual birthday.

Little Appleseed loved sitting where he could look at himself in the mirror. He loved to watch himself while he was chewing. And of course, who could resist kissing that sweet face.I made cupcakes and took up to sing Happy Birthday to the kids. It was nice having both birthdays at the same time. he he. Saves me on money. In our cabin with our cousins that come up too. We love having them there with us every year. It makes the place even that more special.

Hanging with friends

We were hanging out with some teenage cousins while their parents were away for 5 days. It was a good time and they were so good. My kids did not sleep well and thought it was a party every night though.

This is what Appleseed looked like when he first saw his cousin J. He just stared at him until he walked too close and then he started crying. Then they became the best of friends and hung out together a lot. It was so precious! My daughter made me a hat. I know I wouldn't normally willingly post pictures of myself but when I put on my hat she said, "Oh Mom! You look adorable. Just adorable!" So of course I had to post them. She wanted us "adorable girls" to make a goofy face too.It is so precious to me that my sweet boys like to hang out together when one of them is not feeling well. They both just seem to know and will hang around the other. This morning when Appleseed woke up crying then Butterball was quick to get up and say, "It is OK. I am here. I am here." It melts my heart that these special spirits are so close. They truly are Heaven sent.

Buds

Butterball and Appleseed were talking on the couch together the other day. It was so cute. Well actually it was Butterball telling Appleseed that monsters are not that scary. He is so good with him but lately he is too rough and it hurts and/or scares Appleseed and he cries. Poor guy.
We went with my Mom to my her friend's house with the cousins. They were feeding her horse some grass. They loved it. It was funny to see my tough nephew be so timid around the horse. It made me laugh. He just comes across as not being afraid of anything.
The other day Butterball told me that Heavenly Father gave him his powers and he was able to kill a scary cow monster in his room last night. Geez, no wonder he doesn't sleep well what with all the piggy back rides and book reading with Jesus and the cow monster killing with Heavenly Father.

Butterball was in the bathroom on the toilet and complaining about some poop he had seen. I ignored him because every speck to him is poop. He was yelling about how McKenna had come in while he was there and pooped and then put her hand it in it. (She had not been in there.) Next he started yelling about how a bird had come in and pooped and then walked in it and got poop all over. My husband went in there to see if he was done and started yelling about why was there poop on the counter? Apparently when I had taken Butterball's night time diaper off there was poop in it and I didn't know and it had fallen on the counter. So there actually WAS poop on the counter. It cracked me up to know that there really was poop, but the stories he was coming up with about why it was there were hilarious. What an imagination!!!
