Grandparents Lunch

This month on National Grandparents Day they had invited the Grandparents to eat lunch with the students at the school. My daughter was SOOOOOOOO excited for Grandma and Grandpa to come to her school to eat lunch with her. She thought it was the coolest thing ever. While they were inside me and the boys, I love the sound of that, ate our lunch outside and had our own picnic. It was a fun time.

Sickos and such.

Appleseed loved sitting in the window sill when we would visit Grandpa. He also would scream when it was time to go. What Grandpa does best. There is my special boy again. What a nut!He was crying because he has been sick and so my daughter "helped" by giving him a pacifier she found. I almost cried. When I told her we are trying to get him off them she gave him a toy and slowly slipped it out of his mouth. Sigh! What a relief. That was close! Here are my sickos. She cried, whined, moaned nearly all day. She is always like that when she is sick. My little drama queen. Poor thing. This one would not let me put him down so I dragged out that old Maya Sling Wrap and put him in that and was able to do stuff. Worked great. And last but not least, yes he is CHEWING his shirt. A new and very very very bad habit. But he is the least sick of us all. Which I am glad. After the first two days of no pacifier, that were wonderful we did this. All the time. Course he was sick so that was hard. Now that he is starting to feel better we don't cry as much again. Yeah!

Helpers

We went over to my parents house while my Dad and Mom are still at the hospital, to do a little cleaning for them. Butterball was a super good helper as always. I actually had a good time. My kids were super super good and it was fun to bond with them like that.

Here he is vacuuming with his vacuum. He did such a good job.Behind the couch we found the twisty board thing. I laughed and showed him how we used it and had him try it out. So funny. When I moved the suitcases in the back there was some dust. Butterball came over and said, "Uh oh. Gama is going to come see this mess and say, 'What is this mess.' and she will be mad." Here he is "talking" to Aunt D on the phone. He and her were "meeting up later" and he wanted her to bring a motorcycle for him to ride.Appleseed helped out so much he got all tuckered out and took a snooze on his Aunt G's bed. This is when we escaped to hunt monsters. He claimed he needed that stuff to hunt the monsters.

Lost love

Apparently I lost some love today. Butterbean's mirror used to say, "I love Mom and Dad and Butterball and Appleseed and Butterbean." Now it says, "I love Dad and Butterball and Appleseed." Could have been any number of things I did today. Asking her to get dressed for school, to brush her teeth, to eat dinner, to go to quiet time, to do homework, to read, when they jumped on the trampoline and weren't supposed to. Any one of those could have done it. It has been a super hard day with her today.

Grandpa

My Dad is in the hospital right now with a lung infection. We thought he had had a stroke and that is what initially had brought him in. But it turns out that his Co2 levels were too high and giving off stroke like symptoms. It has been very hard and there has been a lot of tears.

Here is a view from a hallway near his room. Gorgeous! My daughter asked if we could go swimming in it. I told her it was too cold. She said, "OK when it is warmer we will come here and go swimming people will see us and say, 'How did they get down there.' " She is a hoot. The kids visiting Grandpa. You have to wear face masks when you go in his room. My son did not keep it on long. He just kept trying to eat the mask.My daughter with her cousin on Grandma's lap.

Cookies with a little -isms on the side.

I had a temporary moment of insanity and brought out the cookie cutters my sister gave me and made sugar cookies with the kids. Oh my word what a mess! But the kids loved it.These are Butterbean's gross looking cookies. Too much frosting for me.And Butterball's cookies.Yuck!Ugh, I so wanted to just pop them in the tub but they were all dressed for bed.So here is a little of my kid's isms.

Butterbean had dropped a comb in the toilet as the lid was not closed. I told them, AGAIN, that we need to keep the lid closed, especially when Appleseed starts crawling around more. Butterbean said we just need to build a toilet outside so that we would not need to worry about Appleseed crawling in it or leaving the seat up. So I guess we will look into a little outhouse out back.

We were going to the zoo and I was upset as I had forgot my camera. She told me to quickly call Daddy and have him mail it to us at the zoo. Then she said, "Oh shoot! That won't work! Because the zoo does not have any mail boxes."

Butterbean said that she could not wait to become an adult. When I asked her why she said, "Because I am ready to get married to Appleseed.", her little brother. So cute.

Butterbean and Butterball were arguing about whether boys have breasts or not. Butterbean kept telling him that boys don't get them because they don't need to feed the babies. Butterball kept insisting that he was going to get them and that his Dad had them. He started yelling, "Don't touch my 'best' when I get older." It was so funny. So today while we were in a store he saw a picture of Christ when he was resurrected and excitedly said, "Look Mommy! Jesus 'best'!" Cracked me up.

For Butterbean's prayer tonight she said, "And bless us so that we will gain the wisdom to get the strength to not get lost again." I said a loud AMEN to that!

Butterball

He was dressed as a football player I think. Not sure what the gardening glove is for. It has been a constant item though lately. He will put it on and claim that he can cook now, or get something out of the oven, or touch the food as he has a glove on. Just the one by the way. But that glove goes everywhere so I am sure it is pretty germy! Yuck! I will have to wash that baby soon.In the spring I let my kids pick out some flowers to grow in their flower garden. My son picked these sun flower thingys. My husband asked me to not grow them again. I told him that the seed package did not say they would grow 50 feet tall! They are huge. He had tons of tall stalks but they kept falling down from the weight so I cut them all but this one. Here he is with the ones that finally fell over. He did not want his picture so he is trying to run out of the view. Poor kid. I trick him into getting his picture all the time. "Iron Giant" has made it to my daughter's school a couple of times this year. Crazy kids all keep calling him Iron Man but my son says he is Iron Giant from his favorite movie. It is funny. He will sometimes chase the kids we walk with and the kids at school will yell, "Go Iron Man!" It cracks me up.I just liked this one.And here is Spider Man helping me push the lawn mower back to my parent's house. What a strong man he is.My son now has two imaginary friends. At least that is all I can think to call them. He does stuff with them when I am not around, like he will tell me he went to the movie with them, or the store, and will always point out the "with out you" part. "Katy" is one, and then we have "Master". The problem is that lately "Katy" and "Master" keep telling him he can do things like cut with knives, jump off things, walk on curbs. They are very naughty friends.

Homework?!?

Butterbean brought home her first homework book for the term. I was a little shocked at what was in it. I mean, seriously? But she enjoys school and is gaining social skills. And she has yet to complain about it being boring. She is getting better at writing her letters and numbers too but practices all the time now. It is cute.

This is her first page homework. You circle all the A's. And this is the last page in the book, finishing the pattern. She has several pages to finish throughout the week and she usually finishes it in a day or two. She actually begs to do the next weeks work too. If it were up to her she would have the book finished. Here's to hoping it gets better. he he

Parade Rest Ranch - Last Day, sob sob

They are building a new game room that is super big and will be awesome when it is done. The kids loved playing on the computer, watching the only tv on the ranch, or playing games. This is the kids in front of our gorgeous cabin. I have stayed in several of them and not one of them has been ugly to me. They are all amazing. Butterball of course refused to be in the picture. While my husband took his customers home, I went back into the park with my sister. It was so much fun. I have a blast when I am with her. And my kids adore theirs. This is how Butterball spent his time as his Dad had the stroller so, gasp, he was forced to walk! I was suprised that my sister didn't kick us out. he heI feel at such peace and am so happy when I am there. I did not want to come home. I had a great time as always.

Parade Rest Ranch Day 3!

We went into Yellowstone Park today. It was good weather, a little chilly but perfect. We did not see as many Bison as we normally have in past years.

Butterbean had been jumping from bench to bench making Mr. D nervous and I had told her she was going to give him a heart attack so then Butterball would lean on him and say, "I giving you a heart attack." Silly kids. Playing around. Butterball thinks he is not in the picture. He was mad enough that I put him next to the sign. After Yellowstone we went back to the ranch where the kids played with horse shoes till dinner time.Appleseed spent most of his time turned around in the high chair. It was funny. Not sure if he just would rather watch the other people instead of us or not.
