Outdoor Fun

The other day was warm enough that I let the kids run in the sprinkler. Apparently it wasn't that warm as Butterball spent a lot of the time huddled in his towel on the ground. He had even brought his pillow out so he would be more comfortable. Nut!We had a picnic lunch outside too which was so nice. I love this time of year! Too bad my baby doesn't like to just lay on the ground while I garden. He would prefer to be held.
I decided to try and get Appleseed to sleep in his bed instead of with me. He cried for a bit and then was very quiet. So I peeked in to find Butterball leaning over the crib with his glow stick talking to him. It was so adorable. Needless to say putting him in there did not work. Butterball would either get in his crib to quiet him down or come and get me. One time he was yelling my name so I finally went in there and Butterball said, "I have been trying to take care of him but I just can't do it! You need to take care of him!" I tried to talk to him about letting Appleseed just cry and that he would cry himself to sleep. Finally at 12:30 AM I put Butterball in his sister's room on the floor so he could get some sleep. And I finally I gave up and brought Appleseed in my bed with me at 1 AM so I could sleep. We will try again another time.

Memorial Fun

We went to visit family for Memorial weekend. It was a long drive and the baby got hungry so I was trying to find a nice place to stop so the kids could play a little. Instead I found an old house and dragged them out to take pictures. Butterball, of course, refused and sat in the car.
We went to a festival and it was cold and raining. I did not pack any warm clothes so I bought Appleseed a sweatshirt and put my hat on him. He never minded. What a good boy.We got to see my niece and her husband and it was so nice as we have not seen them for a long time. Butterball adored her husband and had a good time playing with him.Butterbean chose a princess wand and crown at the festival which Butterball quickly put on and ran around the house wearing just that. Butterbean was mortified!
Appleseed got hungry on the way home so I found the actual place I was looking for on the way down and we stopped for my kids to have another break. They enjoyed playing on the playground and walking around.
It was a wonderful trip and we loved every minute of it. Well, most of it. At one point the kids were riding their bikes with a cousin down to a playground. They were overly tired as we don't sleep as well when we are not at home. Butterbean was being rude to her cousin so I took her off her bike and put her bike in the car. When I went to put her in the car too she ran away. Platform flip flops are not meant for chasing your children around in. I wish they would have come with that disclaimer when I bought them! Eventually I got her in the car with a lot of chasing, screaming, crying, and laughing. The laughing was done by the cousin who thought this was all hilarious. But we look forward to more fun adventures down there.

Happy Birthday Sweetheart!

Happy Birthday Bubba! You are the best! I hope you had a wonderful day!

Bubba was born May 26, 1958 making him the 2nd child in a family that soon grew to 8. He was a teaser and protective of his sisters. And a fighter too.

When he was little he had woke up and went to watch cartoons with his pet cat. He just held that cat on his lap and petted him while he watched. Later he told his Mom something was wrong with the cat. It turned out the cat had died sometime in the night.

Once a sister had a boy come over to pick her up on a date and he had told him, "I don't think so." The guy had to leave and call from a phone down the street.

He joined the army when he was 17 and married 13 days before his 18th birthday on Friday the 13th. He had two wonderful children, Termite and Sissy. Later he was divorced so he could get ready to marry the best wife ever!

In February of 2008 he was in a hotel explosion up in West Yellowstone, MT. A propane tank in the room below had exploded sending him out of his bed onto the floor. He got up and quickly evacuated the hotel of his customers and other patrons. He even went into a burning room 3 times to see if anyone was in there. He had to yell at some people to get out of their rooms right before the room exploded. It was a terrible time for me as I had heard about the explosion but he was not able to call me personally because he had left all his stuff in the room, including his cell phone and he couldn't remember my number. I threatened later to have it tatooed on him. In the summer of 2008 he had to have surgery from the injuries. He is still in a ton of pain every day and will probably never get better which is very hard for us all. Because of his, what he calls stupidity, he was awarded two medals. One is the Civilian Achievement and the other is the Medal of Valor which is the highest award a civilian can receive. I am proud of him for his "stupidity" and am glad that he is still with us today to drive us all nuts. I love you a ton hon!

Bubba when he was little and had played in his poop. Gross! Glad he outgrew that. Military photo. What a stud!
His awards!

Biking fun

Butterbean was given an early birthday present, a new big bike. So the smaller one went to Butterball. I was sure he could not ride it as he just learned to pedal a tricycle. Once again my kids proved me wrong. He does quite well and loves it. We went to the Outdoor Rec show on base. It was nice to see Daddy and eat lunch but my kids had an eye for one thing only, the bouncy slide.

Funny thing my little Butterbean said the other day.....
She was asking what Snow White calls those people. I said "Dwarfs." Then explained what they were. She said, "Oh so Butterball is a dwarf." I told he was just a kid but not a dwarf. "oh so Appleseed is a dwarf." To which I explained he was a baby not a dwarf. Then she thought a minute before saying, " Grandma B is a dwarf." I was laughing to hard to answer.

Pals

OK. My son is so cool! Not only does he have a great relationship with Jesus but also Heavenly Father. Yesterday he told me that Heavenly Father comes out of the spot in the wall, the same one that the monsters come out of, and will read books to him. And to think I was going to put a glow in the dark star on that hole so maybe the monsters couldn't come out anymore. Can't do that now! It is actually not a hole but a small dot on his wall. He is funny.

Butterball finished his chores on time today, Yeah!!! And he asked if for his prize he could vacuum. What? But he told me I could not help him because he can do it himself "cuz I big now." What a sweet heart! We met some friends at the park the other day to play. The kids had a great time while us Mom's chatted. It was nice of them to get together with friends. Butterbean always makes Butterball the monster and her and and her friends run away from him the whole time. I do hate that part. Need to have our neighbor boy come with us next time so he has someone to play with too.
Appleseed LOVES this toy of his. He will giggle when he sees it and loves to try and eat him up. It is very cute. And he loves the tummy time mat a neighbor loaned us, as long as he is not on his tummy.
Butterbean and her friend had to do their makeup before we took her home. Can't have the neighborhood see us without our make-up on. I was a little surprised. I think that dark dark lipstick needs to disappear. See Butterball in the back ground. He refused to be in the picture. But I caught him anyway!
Butterball came and to me and said, "I boke somefin and I can't fix it." He had done something to the sprayer so that when you turned on the tap it came out the bottom. It kept squirting all that gross stuff out with it too. Yuck! Maybe that is what was leaking in the kitchen sink. We hope so.

Little Miss Diva

This is how I found Butterbean when she was supposed to be cleaning her room. I couldn't get on her case as she was doing a math wrap-a-round toy. She chose this outfit and told me it all matched, brown top, brown shorts, and brown shoes. What a nut! She looked kind of dorky to me with the socks pulled up so high. She is a cutie and quite the diva. This was only one of many outfits that day. This was actually outfit number 5 for the day. I only let her change so much because she had not gone outside and got dirty yet. After that she was out of luck. And yet she still got to change because she got a rash from the grass and had to take a bath and change clothes. She loves to change clothes. Though we fight all the time about what I think is OK to wear. I am struggling with summer clothes. I just don't like these short shorts. I don't think their underwear should be showing all the time if they sit down. I also am struggling with skirts for the same reason. Do they ever learn to sit like a lady at this age?
Hard to believe this cute little angel can be such a pill. Lately she will cry, "No one likes me in the whole neighborhood! Everyone hates me! No one will like me at school because I will be dressed ugly!" The last one was after I told her she can't wear shorts to school. She went shopping with my sister and kept begging for stuff and when my sister said no she told her she was the boss of herself and could have what she wanted. She tried to get her to go to a store that had a bunch of Superman stuff. She told her that you get lost a few times and then you go down a few roads and then it is just there. She probably gets that from my driving. I am frequently saying, "Oh, I turned down the wrong road." And then I will say, "Oh, there it is." So in her world you really do get lost and drive a few roads and then it is just there. She has told my sister that she chooses to be sick! And by the way sis, she is always wanting me to buy you something or make cookies for you to help you feel better. Usually when my sister starts with, "Butterbean told me...." I immediately start to cringe.
Some nice things about my princess... She loves to write notes or draw pictures for people. Today she wrote a note for her Primary President and was so embarrassed when I gave it to her. She is always talking about wanting to let her old Primary teacher know that she still loves her. It is nice. She will get dolls for anyone that is hurt or sad in our family to help them feel better. She is very smart and loves to learn. She is always telling me that she knows how to spell a word and will then spell it. It is wrong about half the time but when I do correct her she will repeat it over and over to help herself remember it. She is very very persistant about things. She will try and try and try until she gets something right.

Butterball-isms

Some of the nutty things Butterball has said recently, those trouble makers!

One day his room was super messy and I asked him what had happened because it was just clean a while ago. He told me his Aunt R had done it, who lives about an hour away. When I texted his Aunt about this she told me they were playing tornado hunters and there was a tornado that had come through. He he he. I loved that one. Way to go Aunt R!

I had told him one morning, after he had been whining a lot, that he was tired because he had stayed up too late the night before yelling at the neighbors. He told me it was Aunt M, a neighbor friend, who was yelling at him and he told her, "Stop Aunt M! I have to go to bed!" So Aunt M, could you stop yelling across the street at my son when he is peeking out the window so he can get some sleep?!?

We were in the grocery store the other day and my kids had one of those carts that are cars. Only one steering wheel had a working horn so they were fighting over it. I told them that because they were fighting that neither of them could ride in the car cart and they had to walk. Butterball got out and started yelling and crying and would not walk. So I picked him up and put him in the cart part. Then for the entire time we were in the store he yelled, "You are breaking my bones!" I told him calmly that I was not even touching him so how was I breaking his bones? He yelled back, "You just are! You are breaking my bones!" Trust me I hurried out of that store as quick as I could. I did have a nice lady tell me how well she thought I was doing and that I was handling it very well. Yeah for me!
Our sink is leaking. We are not 100% sure where. The joys of having a home. We had a friend of ours come over to check it out. It was cute to have Butterball right in there too, asking questions He put on this hat and told me, "I have to wear this cuz last night a monster came out of my wall, see this wall right here. Came out of this spot right here. And he crawled in my nose and ate me all up. So I have to wear this hat so that a monster can not come out of my wall. Right here where this spot is, he will come out." What an imagination!!!

Mother's Day trip and such

We took an impromptu trip to visit family this past weekend and had so much fun. I got to see one of my nephew's speak in church and it was incredible!! He had about 23 minutes left to speak and he took it all and was wonderful. Future Prophet material. I was truly amazed how he spoke about his Mom but added lessons in there too. It was really something. I was very very proud. My daughter got to play with her cousin and had so much fun. When we got home though she had cried herself to sleep because she missed her so much. I think we need to get a picture of them two together for her to have. Poor thing. My cute-os decided to clean the neighbor's driveway. I tried to get them to look at me for pictures and my daughter kept saying, "I am trying to do my chores!" Glad to know she can be focused.
I know this is out of order. Oh well. Here are the kids all dressed up for church on Mother's Day. I love them all so much.

Lord help us with these Filthy Mud-Bloods

Appleseed is now eating cereal and of course everyone had to get in on the action. He does very well and ususally eats the whole serving. I always hate this part as it means they are only growing up.
This is so funny. I decided he must be praying for help with all the assistance he gets from his brother and sister.
This is how I found Butterball today when he should have been napping. He had been yelling at the neighbors that they were "filthy mud-bloods". Hopefully they did not hear him. Sorry neighbors. It drives Butterbean nuts because he is always calling her that too. I think someone is watching a little too much Harry Potter.

Surprises and no surprise.

This is the funniest backward thing he has put on. This time though instead of telling me, "It post to go this way'" like he normally does he knew the hat did not go in front and wanted it changed right away.
The other day we woke up to a surprise that someone left us. My kids loved it and were so cute about it. Thank you a ton!!!!
