Yeah I was right!

An old picture but I just like Butterball's face as he looks at Appleseed.

I have always said that up in Heaven I would no longer be allergic to fish as I love it and miss it. But my sister keeps telling me that their is no food in Heaven. I keep telling her that on my world there will be because I love it so much. And now I have the proof that their is food in Heaven! Last night I was telling my kids the story of Abraham and the town of Ur. It was when the people of Ur suffered a famine for their behavior. I was explaining to them what a famine was and Butterball said, "Jesus have a microwave. And a driving car cart." So there you go. I am excited! Yeah!

It is supposed to have a hole?!!?

Today was wick removal day. So I did and he HAS A HOLE!!! I called the doctor's office and they said that was fine. Maybe they should warn the mothers about that! They also said he could get it wet. Ewwww! I may wait on that. As I was waiting for the doctor's office to answer I noticed his discharge instructions said, No alcohol for 24 hours after surgery. Is it that bad they have to include that on a babies discharge paperwork?

New bellybutton

I have decided that his tongue was attached to the belly button some how. Because now that the belly button is an innie is tongue is an outie. He is always playing with it by sticking it in and out. It is the cutest thing. Here is his new flat looking belly with the bandage on. It gave me the heebee jeebees to take that thing off. It was stuck very well too so I was glad that he didn't cry while I took it off. I was not ready to see what was underneath so it was just creeping me out.
Here is what it looks like right now. EEWWWWWWW! It has a gauze wick in there that I have to pull out on Thursday. That will really freak me out. When my daughter saw his belly she said, "Ewww that is gross. I do not like that at all!" I have to agree with her. I know I will love his new belly later but right now it kind of freaks me out. And I am so afraid of touching his tummy right now. He is still in a lot of pain and when that pain killer wears off he cries so hard. It breaks my heart. He still is not eating much so I hope when the pain goes away that he will start.
We took care of my sister's daughter today. My kids love having her kids come over and were very excited. She was hungry so I decided to feed her dinner as we had just finished. She took one look at it and said, "Ewww, I don't like this dinner." I told her she had to at least try it. And this is the face I got. So she then decided she didn't want to eat dinner at our house. Later on she came back and asked to eat the chicken. So I got her some and she ate it. By the 3rd serving she said, "I like this chicken but only a little." We had rice and peas with it. She said she likes rice and peas but not like that, she likes them separate. And she likes chicken but not with sauce on it. She is funny.

Appleseed surgery

Thankfully this is how he spent a good part of the morning waiting. It took an hour and a half before he went into surgery so I was glad he slept as I was worried because I had to stop feeding him at 3:30 AM. He was a little bit fussy when we finally got to have a check-up to see if he was ok to go through with surgery. Here he is with Daddy smiling. He adores his silly Dad.

In his bed, checking things out before surgery. He had to wear a girl's hospital pj's because they had no more boys. He looked so cute.
Here are his poor feet. Those made me sad. He got to have cute little hospital socks like grown-ups do. It was funny. The nurse wasn't sure she could get an IV in his foot because he is so chunky but she was able to after all. He hated the blood pressure cuff though. Poor thing.
Here he is after the surgery sleeping fitfully. If you moved him he just screamed. He wouldn't nurse for hunger but for comfort only. He slept off and on mostly. It was terrible for me to have to wait during that surgery. After it all his wonderful Dad let me go back with him in recovery as only one of us was allowed. Then when we got home he let me sleep for awhile which was awesome! Thank you hubby!!! And thanks to my awesome Mom for taking care of my two sickos at home while we were gone!!!

Buds

Now I know Butterball is friends with Jesus and they are pretty tight, but I think he misunderstood something that Jesus had said. We were getting ready to walk across the street when I asked him to stop and look for cars. He said, "I don't have to cuz Jesus say I don't have to look for cars." I said,"What?" He said, "Jesus say I don't have to look for cars. He my new paphet." I said, "Jesus did not say that and yes you do have to look for cars!"

Nervous wreck!

My baby has his surgery for his hernia tomorrow morning. I have to stop feeding him at 3:30 AM. I am hoping they get us right in for the surgery because it will break my heart to hold him waiting with him starving. Poor thing. I have been a wreck. I just keep snacking and praying. I just don't want my baby to have to go through this and keep wondering if we are doing the right thing. It actually looks a lot smaller now because he got so fat in the month since we decided to do this. But you can tell where his skin stretched out to make him a huge outie. Poor guy.
This is my couch potatoes. Even Appleseed got in the action. I know I should have not let them all be in the same room. Right after that I opened the door and windows and stuck them back in their rooms.

Butterbean wanted to go bike riding as a family so bad even though she was sick. We went for a short one but she ended up crying and then walking. She felt miserable. It was Appleseed's first ride in the bike trailer and he seemed ok. He is too small so at the end he was leaning to the side sucking on the seatbelt. Butterball said it was "So fun. That was great!"
I was in the house and heard honking and knew that Butterball had climbed into the car to play, again. So I went outside to yell at him and he was in the truck instead with both doors locked. I asked him to show me how he had climbed in there

The patient and home repairs?

My poor Butterbean is sick and bored to death as I have quarantined her in her room. I set up the portable DVD player for her so she would have something to do. I just don't want to take a chance of Appleseed getting sick because then we would have to procrastinate his surgery that he is supposed to have on Monday. I feel bad for her as I have never done this when they are sick. Poor thing. She is super mad at me today about it. If I could I would just take Appleseed to a hotel for the weekend and leave the others at home with their Dad. As that isn't going to happen she will have to just keep being mad at me. Here is Bubba playing with a new toy that supposedly isn't even his. Too funny that he can't see those little gun parts without a flashlight.
The kids and I spent a few days visiting family this past week. It was so good to go down there again. Even if we ended up having a snow storm so we were not able to be outside much. I did not think I would need to pack winter gear in April.
We got to meet my niece's twin girls. They are so beautiful and such happy babies. And their Mommy looks awesome! They are 25 days older than Appleseed. Surprising what those days difference can make in size. It was so cute to have them together. It will be fun to see them growing up.
He he. Appleseed's mean Mom put Butterbean's Easter hat on him. He did not like it at all. I love his little frowny face though.
My husband has done some repairs around our house that just crack me up. And unfortunately they work. The bathtub was put in weird so it would leak into the crawl space if the water got too high. He replaced the rubber thingy and stuff in the back 3 times and it still didn't work till he came up with this idea. Viola! It may look dorky but it works. It cracks me up. I do hate our new TV antenna though. It looks horrible and unfortunately also works better with it than without.

Happy Easter

We had a great Easter. Because my husband had to work in the morning we made a deal with the bunny to come while we were at church. They did get their Easter clothes before church though. Except my daughter refused to wear her hat at church. Then we got to have a wonderful lunch, Thank you a ton. Then went and had an Easter egg hunt at a relatives. It was a blast and the kids had a great time.

Here is my baby with his Easter basket. This kids thought he had to get stuff from the bunny too so he brought him eggs filled with trail mix and Jordan Almonds. Yum yum. My daughter will ask Appleseed if he wants to eat something and he always says yes, then she will hand it to me to eat. Butterball HATES having his picture taken. Many times I have to trick him by telling him that I am not taking his picture but a picture of something near him. It works most of the time. So his Dad got upset with him because I could not get a good picture of him so he is sitting here crying. Poor thing, it was just not worth it to me to make him have his picture taken.
Here are us girls. She was excited that we dressed as "twins". What you can't tell how we are twins? It is the short sleeves and no tights according to my daughter.

Here are my boys. Butterball was excited to be dressed like Dad. Hence the reason my daughter had to find a way that we also were dressed alike. I know, I know. I was just as shocked to have Butterball actually smile for this. I was so glad. They look so cute.
And here is the only picture of all 3 kids together in their Easter clothes. That stinker Butterball! I mean at least Appleseed stayed in the picture even if he is crying.

This is for you Termite.

My son Termite requested to see some pictures of his Dad as he has not seen him in a long long time. So here you go bud.

It was justButterbean, Appleseed, and I for coloring eggs. Butterball did not want to leave his precious tv. Then she wanted to eat one right away but not the green part (yolk). One time she wanted me to peal off the green outside of the yolk which I wouldn't . Silly girl.
My kids went to a church Easter egg hunt. It was fun. They made their own baskets too. It was interestimg to see Butterbean react to Butterball when her friend sat down next to her though. He had not done anything and yet Butterbean immediately yelled "No _____!" And held out her hand like she was pushing him off. She is very possessive of her girl friends. Butterball for some reason is always hugging or climbing on them.

This is how Appleseed and I spend part of our nights. Just talking and giggling. But then we have the crying and many times the screaming. Tonight my back hurts so bad from pacing, rocking, and bouncing him that I want to cry. I am not a fan of colic at all! Hoping his upcoming umbilical surgery may help with the pain.

I now know why my son likes the Harry Potter movies so much. He has a little crush on the Hermione character. He has always drove me nuts with his constant question of "Where's Hermione?" if she is not in the scene. But today he was watching it, and there is a scene where Hermione is frozen from the Basilisk and Harry is holding her hand, and Butterball says, "If I Harry I would kiss Hermione to wake her up." Then Butterbean and Butterball were "playing" Harry Potter and she was being Hermione when she is frozen. Butterball leaned down and kissed her and she said, "That is not how it happens! He does not kiss her! You need to watch it again." It was so funny. Here is Butterball talking to his big brother, Termite. He had accidentally called him so when Termite called back Butterball talked his ear off. He was so excited. He has never met Termite, as he lives in Iowa, but he loves him to death. I love that Termite is 3 years younger than me but still calls me Mom. It melts my heart.
A girl after my own heart. I caught her reading in bed with her flashlight.

Birthday fun.

Here are my kids enjoying birthday cake and ice cream. Because I can't have milk right now I didn't get any. Later I ate some soy ice cream for my birthday. They were excited because I wasn't planning on having any cake and ice cream. I am having a harder time with the no milk diet this time and have honestly had to restrict stuff from the home that I can't resist. So we bought these small individual pieces of cake for them. We had a babysitter tonight, Thanks a ton SD!! Thank you again for helping them clean their rooms before we got home. That was the best surprise. When we got home they had been playing dress-up with her. Butterbean is a princess, love the belly showing. And Butterball is the evil witch. He is the cutest evil witch I have ever seen I swear.
OK! Earlier in the day we went to the park. Please tell me when this became park attire? Can I tell you how frumpy I felt in my flappy capris and flats! This girl looked great.
I kept trying to get a picture of her shoes without her knowing and she kept moving out of the way so I could take pictures of my kids, who kept getting in the way of the shot!

We fed the seagulls too. They loved it! I actually hate that the ducks don't come around as much now because the seagulls have gotten mean. We tried to feed the ducks and they stayed over on the far side. Sad.
I had put a baseball cap on Appleseed for the park. It got a little sideways on the way there. What I thought was also cute was Butterball holding his hand. He does this every time we are in the car. He grabs his little hand and holds it the whole time. He is so sweet to him.

My big boy & tired cutie.

My poor Butterbean has not been feeling well. She came and asked if she could lay down with me. So we went and laid down and she fell asleep right away. And then Butterball woke her up shortly after. Poor thing.

I braided all of Butterbean's hair today. I am hoping she will have cute waves in her hair tomorrow. We will see. I actually liked how it looked today too. And she was so good while I did it.

Appleseed is getting so big so fast. The doctor said normal babies double their birth weight at 5 months but that he is gaining weight so fast that he would do it at 3 months. I weighed him the other day and he was 12 lbs 6 oz. So he has by passed that mark. So cute! His belly button is taking on a whole new shape too. It has it's original bulge and now has a little one on top of it too. It is weird looking. I think it is because he is getting so fat so fast. I think, because I really don't know. I get such anxiety when I get mailers in the mail for his surgery or phone calls about it from the hospital. I will be thankful to get it done but boy am I nervous about it.
